How the Anointing Works In the New Covenant

Can you do the same works as Jesus Christ and the apostles? Learn what the anointing through the Holy Spirit is and how you can use it.

The Bible speaks of the anointing that comes with the Holy Spirit, which is not exclusive to Jesus and the apostles but is available to any and all who seek to serve God according to His will, allowing us to do the same and greater works than we could ever imagine on our own.

However, some Christians believe that the anointing is only available to those who have been chosen by God, such as the apostles, and that it is not available to everyone who seeks to serve God. Unfortunately, many have fallen into this trap thus holding themselves back to be used by God in wonderful ways.

The anointing of the Holy Spirit is the equipment that God has given us to do the work of ministry. It is the power of the Holy Spirit that enables us to serve God and others in His strength, not our own. This is like an athlete who goes to the Olympics with the best equipment and training available; it's only through using that equipment and training that they are able to compete at the highest level and achieve the best results.

So for us to be effective in the Kingdom of God, we need to know what the anointing is and how it can be used.

Below is a list of topics covered in this article. We'll explain the finer details of each case, from start to finish providing a comprehensive overview of each topic, including the key points and the supporting evidence for each.

False Anointing

There is a lot of false anointing in the church with lying signs and wonders and many things that do not follow the Spirit of self-control. There's also spiritual pride, where some believe you need to receive special impartations of anointing to be effective in the Kingdom of God.

This false anointing and spiritual pride can lead to deception and a false sense of power. It can also lead to a lack of accountability, as those who believe they have received a special anointing may be less likely to submit to authority or seek wise counsel.

In the scripture below, Jesus warns us of false prophets who will come and claim that they are the "Christ." He is warning us to be wary and not be deceived by these false prophets. If we study the word Christ, we come to interesting conclusions.

"For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many.”

Mat 24:5 NKJV

khris-tos’ STRONGS G5547

Christ = "anointed"

The word Christ in greek means "anointed." In other words, many will say "I am the anointed one."

‼️ We must stay away from such false teachers as they claim to have something reserved for a select few. Many claim to have a special anointing, and only special people can receive this anointing. The truth is the anointing from God is for everyone with the Holy Spirit indwelling within them.

For example, some false teachers may claim that only those ordained by them can receive God’s anointing, and this is false, as anyone can receive God’s blessings through faith in Him.

Kundalini Spirit & Divination

Unfortunately, false spirits have invaded the Church fulfilling the prophecy by Paul that in the last days deceiving spirits will creep into the church (1Tim 4:1).

I'm not intending to write a lot about this. However, I wanted to make readers of this article aware of this deception so they can go and do their research. We may or may not write more about this in the future.

As I embarked on the ministry of deliverance, I encountered many Christians affected by impartions of the kundalini spirit or other familiar spirits. Usually, it's imparted through the laying on of hands from people who open themselves up to receiving extra anointing. At Charismatic conferences (there are still some good ones of course), as well as some more conservative churches, the laying on of hands is practiced to receive a more powerful anointing. This is where familiar spirits can be imparted because the person is open to receiving something. They aren't receiving anything powerful, but rather they are being deceived into thinking they are. Some might claim you can receive "more of the Holy Spirit" but it's far from the truth. If someone prays for you where your mind is closed to receive, you are protected, but because God gives us free will, we can open ourselves up if we want to.

The manifestations can come in different shapes and forms, but some are laughter, unusual movements, animal noises, uncontrollable tongues, big emphasis on emotions and angels, false prophecy, shaking, falling to the ground etc. Shaking and falling to the ground may happen at a deliverance, but it's a manifestation of the unclean spirit showing itself - some people mistake this as the Holy Spirit but forget that the Holy Spirit gives us self-control.

If someone asks you to receive something, run! The only spirit you need to receive is the Holy Spirit.

💡 It's important to note that the Holy Spirit can give us joy, can make us shake when filled with His presence, and we can see angels. But yet with all of it, we have full control of the experience because the Lord gave us self-control through His Spirit. For this reason we must discern right from wrong so we don't fall into deception.

Because we have a gracious Father, He will only give us what we ask for. So if we ask for the Holy Spirit, nothing else will come (Luk 11:13). Receiving the Holy Spirit is a wonderful gift God freely gives us. Anything we ask for outside the Holy Spirit is not from God and is a deception. It is wise to remember always to seek God first and to reject anything that does not come from Him.

In Acts 16:16, we read about a similar spirit that was able to foretell the future. We must be careful not to rely solely on prophecy because it can be deceptive. We should instead test the words of the prophecy to see if they align with the nature of God, who is loving, just, and merciful. We should also look at the life of the person delivering the prophecy, as that can tell us a lot about the source of the prophecy.

If you have been affected by such impartations, please message us, and you will be led through a deliverance of such wicked spirits.

Most Common Objection

There are common objections that people use to say that the anointing is only reserved for certain people, such as ordained elders or apostles. Elders indeed hold a different function in the church than an other member but the Word of God does not make a difference in the anointing, only in the function.

Why did only the apostles do these things in the book of acts?

The ministry of Jesus Christ was focused on the 12 apostles so they could be properly trained and equipped to keep preaching this Good News once Christ ascended and His Spirit was sent to us. Paul said that we should imitate him as he imitates Christ (1Cor 11:1). Jesus said that those who believe will do the same works as He did and even greater (John 14:12).

17 "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 "they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

Mar 16:17-18 NKJV

This implies that Christ's ministry was designed to provide a model for believers to follow, empowering them to continue His mission of spreading the Good News. For example, Jesus sent out His 12 and 70 disciples two by two to preach, heal the sick, and cast out demons, and believers today can still do those same things, empowered by the Holy Spirit (Luke 10:1, 9). We don't see this discontinued anywhere, and Jesus said all those who believe these signs will follow.

📚 Curious about who can cast out demons? See how the ministry of deliverance has grown from Christ to all believers in this article.

The book of Acts tells the story of how the apostles and their followers spread the Gospel. It shows how they faced persecution and opposition and ultimately spread the Word of God across the ancient world. It reminds us of the power of God and the dedication of the apostles, and it is a call for us to follow in their footsteps and lay the same foundation they have laid.

For instance, in Acts 8, we read about Philip's mission to Samaria, where he preached the Gospel, healed the sick and cast out demons. Philip was not an apostle but an evangelist.

Another example is Ananias in Acts 9. It is written that he is a regular disciple (Acts 9:10) doing the same works that the apostles have done. This shows that the same gifts of the Spirit given to the apostles have been extended to other believers as well. These gifts, such as healing the sick and casting out demons, are not limited to the apostles but are available to all who have faith.

We see that Ananias was able to perform these basic works:

We don't see anywhere that Ananias was an apostle or elder. He was a disciple. A disciple follows Christ as their Master, and they too should become like their master, according to Matthew 10:25.

Therefore, it is important to recognize that baptizing new believers, laying hands on the sick, or any basic work of Christ can be a role filled by any disciple of Christ, not just an apostle or elder, for anyone perfectly trained will be like their master (Luke 6:40). For example, Philip baptized the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8:38, and this is a clear example of a disciple baptizing someone who put their faith in Jesus.

Even Paul did not confer with flesh and blood when the Lord Jesus called him. It is Jesus Christ who calls people, not men.

15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb and called me through His grace, 16 to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood, 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.

Gal 1:15-17 NKJV

Timothy's Impartation

Some argue that Timothy received an impartation from Paul by the laying on of hands. Let's look at this a bit closer.

6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

2Ti 1:6 NKJV

14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.

1Ti 4:14 NKJV

There are a few things outlined here. Let's make it clear through a list so we can better place this into context.

If we study the baptism of the Holy Spirit in the book Acts, we see that on every account, the Holy Spirit was received through the laying on of hands (Acts 8:17, Acts 9:17, Acts 19:6). In the same way, Timothy received the gift of the Holy Spirit from Paul through the laying on of hands.

The elders then laid hands on Timothy to reveal the gift or calling that is within him. We can do this by laying hands on people, and God through His Spirit gives us revelation or in other words prophecy for this person what gift they are called to walk into.

When we receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, we receive power from God to be an effective witness for Christ. Paul encouraged Timothy to stir up this gift that is in him. The belief is that this gift was evangelism (2Tim 4:5) which we read in Eph 4:11 is a gift to the church.

Christ in us the Hope of Glory

Through faith in Jesus Christ, we can help others to also have hope in the glory of God. We can share our experiences and testimonies of God's goodness and mercy, and how He has transformed our lives. This encourages others to trust in Him.

For example, when we see a sick person, we can show them how much God loves them by praying for them to be healed in the name of Jesus Christ. Isn't that a beautiful way to demonstrate God's goodness that leads to repentance? (Rom 2:4)

When someone is bound by the enemy in depression or suicide, we can show them the hope by setting the captive free.

🔥 We can be the light to those in darkness and the beacon that leads them to freedom. By pointing others to Christ, they can be made whole and experience life in all its fullness.

27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

Col 1:27-28 NKJV

So does Christ work only through ordained people? No, the Holy Spirit sets apart and ordains. But there is no special or extra anointing you can receive by holding a certain position. It's like walking on a path - the path itself is open to anyone, but the Lord may call certain people to take on a leading role for certain sections of the path, with no extra power or abilities than the rest of us.

So basically, you don't need a special badge to follow the Lord!

Old Covenant Anointing vs. New Covenant

Many believers, believe in the New Covenant, but they hold to some false beliefs that come from the old covenant, which has been made absolute (Heb 8:13). We now have something much more beautiful than the Old Covenant, and this includes the anointing. The anointing in the old covenant for most people was temporary and limited.

The Holy Spirit empowered certain people with a special anointing to lead and guide Israel during times of difficulty and distress. These people were not sealed with the Holy Spirit, meaning they were not permanently filled with the Spirit, and their anointing was temporary.

For example, Samson was empowered by the Holy Spirit to defeat the Philistines, but when he eventually sinned, the Spirit departed from him (Judges 16:20).

Does the Spirit leave us every time we sin now in the new covenant? Well, I'm sure you have sinned in the past, and the Holy Spirit didn't leave you! How amazing God's grace is! That doesn't mean we should continue in sin, but it shows us the difference between the Spirit in the old and new covenant.

In another instance, King Saul was anointed by Samuel, the prophet, with a special anointing of the Spirit, to lead Israel. However, when he disobeyed God, that anointing was taken away (1 Samuel 16:14).

⛔️ It is important to note that in the New Covenant the Holy Spirit can stop working in a person when they decide to continue in sin without repentance. Sin hardens our heart and we grieve the Holy Spirit. If we repent, ask for forgiveness He is graceful and forgives us so we can have that relationship with Him again. The anointing in a person can decrease and increase in a person depending on their relationship with God. I call this the "two-fold anointing". We will talk about this more at the end in this article.

The Temple

Priests had to bring sacrifices for their sins before going to the temple. The purpose of the sacrifices was to restore peace and harmony between the people and God. It was believed that by making a sacrifice and repenting of their sins, priests could be in the right relationship with God and worthy to enter the temple.

The temple was made out of three parts:

  1. Outer Court
  2. Holy Place
  3. Holy of Holies

The outer court was the area where the people would come to make the sacrifices, the Holy Place was where the priests would perform the rituals, and the Holy of Holies was the area where the high priest would enter the presence of God to make atonement for the people's sins.

You would die if you entered the Holy of Holies without atoning for the sins of the people and yourself. This was because the presence of God was so powerful that no one could enter without being purified first. The high priest would enter the Holy of Holies and offer a blood sacrifice to make atonement for the people so that they could approach God with clean hearts.

In the temple, there was a veil separating the area between the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies. When Jesus died on that cross the veil was torn (Matt 27:51) symbolizing that Jesus' sacrifice was enough to restore the relationship between God and His people. It also showed that access to God was no longer limited to the priest, but was available to all people.

This demonstrates that Jesus had broken down the barriers that once kept people away from God, allowing them to draw near to Him through faith and grace. You no longer need to be pure to come to God, because HE HIMSELF has made you pure through the Holy Spirit and the imputed righteousness of Christ (Col 1:22,  Rom 3:22-24).

So, if you're feeling "impure," just remember, you're already pure in Jesus' eyes—you just need to accept that fact and let the Holy Spirit do its thing! He will convict you of sin, lead you into repentance, and God's righteousness will reign in you!

We are now the temple

In the new covenant God has made with us, He puts His Spirit in us and makes us His dwelling place. This means that the spiritual temple of God resides in the hearts of believers, rather than in a physical temple (1 Peter 2:5, Eph 2:19-22).

Our bodies are also made out of three parts, just like the old covenant temple: For instance, we have a spirit, a soul, and a body (1 Thess 5:23) which make up our triune being just as the temple had a holy place, a holy of holies, and an outercourt. This analogy is further reinforced in the New Testament when Peter talks about us as living stones that are being built up into a spiritual temple, with Jesus as the cornerstone.

Now we are all priests and have become holy through the finished work of Christ that He has performed on the cross (Col 1:22,  Rom 3:22-24). This is where the shocking difference comes in. In the old covenant, religious practices were reserved only for dedicated priests, but in the new covenant, we are all made into a priesthood (1Pe 2:5)!

This is because, in the new covenant, Jesus has made us all partakers of His divine nature, making us holy and blameless before God. This means that we no longer need to rely on the priests of the old covenant to act as mediators between God and us. Instead, we now have direct access to God through Jesus Christ the ultimate Mediator.

Bottom line: There is no longer any difference in anointing because we have all received the same Spirit that now lives in us.

The body of Christ

First, Jesus Christ came down in the flesh, and He was filled with the Holy Spirit. He went around preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, telling people to repent, healing the sick, casting out demons, raising the dead etc. By performing these incredible works of power, Jesus demonstrated He had authority from His Father in Heaven (John 5:19).

At this time, He could only be in one place at a time. This is why He said it's better that the Holy Spirit comes! Because, at that time, the Holy Spirit was with the disciples but not in them.

When Jesus returned to the Father, He sent down the Holy Spirit. Now because our sins were forgiven, the Holy Spirit could live in us.

The Word of God says that Jesus Christ is the head, and we are the body. We are the body, and Christ lives in us, now we are His hands and feet, called to do the same works He has done. This means that we are called to be servants in the world, just as Jesus was a servant to those around Him. We are called to share the good news of the gospel and to show love to those in need.

It is through the power of the Holy Spirit that we are able to do this—the same Spirit that empowered Jesus to perform miracles and spread His teachings. We have the same opportunity to do the same work and to be a light for those around us.

The same ministry that Jesus started, we now get to finish! Praise the Lord.

The anointing of the Holy Spirit is a gift that is freely given to all believers. No one is more anointed than another, nor is anyone given a greater measure of the Spirit than anyone else. False anointing is often associated with spiritual pride and can lead to actions that grieve the Holy Spirit. It should never be abused or taken for granted and should always be used in humility and obedience to His will.

11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

1Co 12:11 NKJV

This means that, as the one true Spirit, God has the power to use his gifts in whatever way he deems fit. These gifts can be used to bring about healing, comfort, and peace, or to challenge and convict us. Ultimately, what God does with His gifts is up to Him, but they live inside every believer through the Holy Spirit.

For example, one day, He might get you to prophesy to someone; the other day, He might use you for a gift of healing. The Spirit decides which gift He wants to operate at any given time.

Difference between gift and office

We can't confuse prophecy with the office of a prophet. For example, the Bible clarifies that everyone can prophesy (1 Cor 14:5, 1 Cor 14:31), but not everyone is a prophet (Eph 4:11).

The nine gifts of the Holy Spirit (1Cor 12:1-11) are for every born-again believer, and the Spirit decides which gift to work at a particular time and place according to the needs of the person being ministered to (1Cor 12:11).

Everyone can evangelize, but not everybody is an evangelist.

Everyone can prophesy, but not everyone is a prophet.

Everyone can teach, but not everyone is a teacher.

Everyone can shepherd people, but not everyone is a pastor.

Do you see the difference?

For example, we can all lead and guide others (shepherding) in our homes, work, school etc. But not everyone is equipped to be a pastor of a congregation.

More Scriptures

The points made previously were primarily based on the narrative of the gospel or the storyline of the old to the new covenant. Let's also look at some other scriptures.

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, [even] to the end of the age.” Amen

Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV

In this passage, Jesus outlines the Great Commission, the Christian mandate to spread the Gospel and make disciples of all nations. He is telling them to teach the new followers everything He had taught them, and the Great Commission was undoubtedly one of these teachings.

According to a recent study, only 17% of churchgoers know the Great Commission. We have been slacking and need to get back on track!

25 "It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household!

Mat 10:25 NKJV

40 "A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher.

Luk 6:40 NKJV

Here we see written that a disciple should be like his teacher. Because anyone who is trained, will one day become like his teacher. Because Jesus is our standard, and the Holy Spirit our teacher, the goal should be to walk just like Jesus has walked.

20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.

1Jo 2:20 NKJV

We read here that we have been given an anointing from the Holy One. There is only one spirit, one faith, one Lord and one anointing! Once we receive the Holy Spirit, that's all you need to receive. It is a sign of our faith and the gifts that come with it, such as the ability to share the gospel and demonstrate the power of God.

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,

Eph 4:11-14 NKJV

The point of the passage is to emphasize the importance of equipping the saints for ministry and edifying the body of Christ. The key word is to "equip the saints". For instance, the evangelist trains the people on how to evangelize, the prophet needs to teach people how to prophesy, etc etc... I think you get the point. In this way, the church is able to grow and mature in unity and knowledge.

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.

2Co 5:20 NKJV

An ambassador is an official envoy, especially a high-ranking diplomat who represents a country in its dealings with another country. In this same way, a Christian ambassador represents Christ in their dealings with others. We are to plead with others to be reconciled to God, using Christ's name and message as our authority. We can confirm this message with signs and wonders through the Holy Spirit. For instance, when Paul visited the city of Lystra, he healed a man who was lame from birth and the people wanted to worship him, but Paul refused, instead directing them to worship God (Acts 14:8-18).

"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

Jhn 14:12 NKJV

Jesus essentially says that those who believe in Him will be able to do the same and even greater works than He did. Through the Holy Spirit, believers can be filled with the same divine power that Jesus was filled with, enabling them to do these things.

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 1:8 NKJV

Jesus was telling his disciples that they would be given supernatural power from the Holy Spirit to spread His message to the ends of the world. This would enable them to be effective witnesses of His death and resurrection. We see them going out into the world preaching the Gospel and God confirming their words with signs and wonders. This is not reserved only for some, but the baptism of the Holy Spirit is for everyone!

He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

1Jo 2:6 NKJV

If we say that Christ lives in us, then we should live our lives in a way that reflects Christ, following in His example and striving to do the same works He did.

Therefore I urge you, imitate me.
Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.

1Co 4:16 NKJV, 1Co 11:1

Paul urges the church to imitate him and his example of following Christ. He wants them to take note of his actions and words and to follow his example of living a life devoted to Christ. So if the anointing was only for the apostles, why did Paul say this? Because Christ lives in all of us!

Jesus Can Set You Free!

You can experience forgiveness of your sins, healing and deliverance. It's not a religion. It's a relationship.

Growing in Your Anointing

Now that it's clear that you have the anointing and don't need to receive anything else to start using the anointing, how do you grow it? Can you grow it?

First, we have to make clear that anointing cannot be imparted. Only the Holy Spirit can be imparted, and through laying on of hands, God can reveal gifts in us through prophecy. You learn how to get more of the anointing you already have through obedience.

Jesus said that if we are faithful with little, He will trust us with more. If we can't manage what we have, we shouldn't expect to receive more. He knows our hearts and our capabilities better than we do, and He wants to give us what is best for us. So, He will only give us more of the anointing if He knows that we can handle it and are willing to use it for His glory.

This is like a parent giving their child a bigger responsibility as they grow up; the parent knows their child can handle it, and is trusting them to use it wisely.

5 And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith." 6 So the Lord said, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you. 7 "And which of you, having a servant plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, 'Come at once and sit down to eat'? 8 "But will he not rather say to him, 'Prepare something for my supper, and gird yourself and serve me till I have eaten and drunk, and afterward you will eat and drink'? 9 "Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I think not. 10 "So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, 'We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.' "

Luk 17:5-10 NKJV

The point of this parable is to illustrate the idea that we are merely servants of the Lord and that our duty is to do what we are commanded to do, regardless of recognition or reward. The servant in the parable was not expecting to be thanked, he was merely doing what he was commanded, and that was enough. In the same way, we need to start with the faith we already have. They asked Jesus to increase their faith, but Jesus simply replied that they should have faith like a mustard seed and do what they are commanded.

The Two-fold Anointing

Now that you've seen through the Word of God that everyone is anointed in the New Covenant, you might still ask yourself, why are there some people when they speak, they can speak with authority, and hearts melt by their anointing?

This is because some people have a greater measure of the anointing due to their obedience, dedication, and trust to God. When they speak, their words carry greater power and conviction because of the strength of the anointing they carry. It's not that they received something special from God because He is not a respecter of persons (Acts 10:34).

They have learned to form a relationship with God that is intimate, based on who they are in Christ, and as they nurture this, they learn how to have fellowship with the Holy Spirit, where their words carry more power.

This cannot be imparted by laying on of hands. Some Christians mistake Timothy for receiving an extra gift by the laying on of hands, but if we study this carefully, we learn that he simply received the Holy Spirit by laying on of hands (2Tim 1:6), and while the hands were laid on, it was prophesied or in other words revealed what his office/gift in the Church is (1Tim 4:14).

We don't see any extra anointing received in the New Covenant except through the reception of the Holy Spirit.

So yes, you have everything you need to heal the sick, cast out demons and preach with boldness. But yet, as our faith increases, so does our spiritual authority in the Kingdom of God.

There was a point where the disciples couldn't cast out a demon, and Jesus rebuked them for their unbelief. Jesus told them that their unbelief only goes out by praying and fasting.

19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not cast it out?" 20 So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21 "However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting."

Mat 17:19-21 NKJV

We need to be faithful with what we have, and then God will give an increase (Luk 16:10). The good news is that you have received everything you need to start living out the life of Jesus Christ as a disciple of His. The only thing most people lack is not the Holy Spirit but obedience. Once we step out in faith, we see Jesus working among us with power transforming the lives of the people around us.
